I apologise for the very uncreative title, but it is relevant and that's the more important thing. This page is just about me explaining here my methods of web site design, my opinions on it, what I used to make this site and how I learned what I know. There's no general structure here, so if I ramble please forgive me. :-)

Due to the length of this page I have used PHP to break it up into smaller pages. I didn't want to make multiple pages because this way all "pages" are downloaded in one go and would actually speed up download time because you're only downloading one file of text rather than multiple ones which the browser would have to re-download as you navigate back and forth across the "pages". Plus it's easier for me to proof-read. This is better for you, too, because let's face it: a few paragraphs looks good while a huge load of them looks rather daunting. All you need to do is click the next and previous links if they are available. It's nice and simple.

You may have noticed by now that unlike many other sites this one uses very few graphics. The reason for this is simple: I don't like graphics. More specifically: I don't like making graphics. The background for headers of these posts came with a phpBB Forum Style Template created by Haravikk called "Myth2". I used a graphic for the headers because a colour alone didn't look quite right for what I was aiming for whereas the graphic fits the bill nicely. If I wanted to use any other graphics I'd have to make them and absolutely hate making graphics. I also did not want to go downloading a bunch of graphics - I find that an insult to my skills. I preferred working without graphics and find sites can look just as nice without them. Besides; if a site is graphics-reliant then you risk slowing the download time of the pages and there are web-users who surf sites with graphics turned off. I have to think of those people, don't I? For them this site should be perfectly fine and will display as intended regardless of their graphics-settings (with graphics turned off a visitor would see the headers as being green on a black background, which is only a small change). Of course the pages aren't going to look as impressive as those that are graphics-reliant but in whose eyes? A web page must first look good in the eyes of the owner before anybody else's and as the owner I do like the site and how I have it now. It's simple and easy on the eye, which are important factors in their own right, plus it has a sense of individuality too - I have never come across a site that looks like mine.
