Relays are like stories for which there are multiple writers each having their own character or set of characters. Anybody may control the plot and any character to some degree. Each response from a write is like a chapter of the story.
RolePlays, or RPs, are similar to relays but are much more restricted - writers cannot control other characters in any way. Each response from a writer is just a small piece of the story to show their character's point of view.
